Backcountry Huts (115 so far...)

Documented below is a quest to visit 100 different backcountry huts. The ongoing project began in 2006 and has covered several magnificent mountain ranges including the U.S. Rockies, San Juans, Pacific NW Cascades, Sierra Nevadas, Canadian Coast, Canadian Rockies, European Alps (Swiss,French,Italian,Austrian,Liechtensteinian), New Zealand's Southern Alps, Ecuadorian Andes, and Patagonian Andes. Many of the huts were part of multi-day hut-to-hut tours; some huts were quite easy to reach; some were quite difficult; almost all were reached on skis; about half were reached as solo efforts and the others with loyal friends.
